My Story

I saw my first pieces of sea glass while on holiday in Cornwall in 2017, I found the jewel like pieces on Porthmeor beach, in St Ives, and was fascinated by the tiny pieces of sea weathered glass. It became an almost instant addiction, and I found myself scouring every beach I visited in the hopes of finding more… not that I had any idea what I was going to do with it at that point, but I carefully stored every piece I found, ready for some creative project way off in the future…

I had to navigate a move of some 300 miles, find a job and somewhere to live, retire from said job and, like everyone else, endure a pandemic before I finally had the time and space to revisit my collection of sea glass, and start the process that led to the creation of Inspiredbyseaglass.

Unable to undertake the usual shopping expeditions because of Covid, I started making small gifts for family birthdays and Xmas, and then friends of family started asking if I could make them something similar, until I eventually realised there was a market for the quirky pictures I conjured up from the ‘treasures’ I found on my local beaches… and so inspiredbyseaglass was ‘born’.

My treasure trove!

So here I am, finally living the dream in Cornwall, where I get to wander its beautiful beaches, photographing the spectacular scenery, and collecting the sea glass and driftwood I use to create my unique art and handmade jewellery

I hope you enjoy my art as much as I have enjoyed making it!

Some of my art work, sat on my mantlepiece at home.
